ABOUT CRAIKER

Chris d Craiker, AIA, has been President of Craiker Associates, Architects and Planners Inc. for over 30 years. Providing architecture and planning services throughout Northern California and the Pacific Rim. As a registered Architect in California and Hawaii, Craiker specializes in commercial, residential, renovation and mixed-use communities. Craiker has won over 30 prestigious Design and Planning Awards including the PCBC “Home of the Year” award.

 

Chris attended California Polytechnic at San Luis Obispo as well as the Pepperdine College in Los Angeles. After two years with Caesar Pelli at Daniel, Mann, Johnson & Mendenhall, Engineers & Architects in Los Angeles, Chris spent six years as a designer for one the leading housing experts, B.A. Berkus & Associates of Los Angeles. Chris moved to the Bay Area to set up a branch office for an Architect in 1972. In 1973, Chris was Director of Architecture and Planning for the Environmental Planning Institute in Sausalito. In 1976 he co-founded Design Phase II Architects in Mill Valley before forming his owner firm, Craiker Associates, in 1980. Since then, Craiker Associates has become a nationally renowned firm across the nation and in Japan.

ABOUT

Craiker has been responsible for more than 200,000 housing units across the United States and in Japan.  For the last 20 years, Chris has specialized in designing, planning and renovating multi-family high density housing, including apartments, condominiums, high density detached homes and affordable housing projects for both profit and non-profit development teams.

 

Chris is past President of the BIA-Northern Division and a Founder and past Director of the Metro Commerce Bank, now part of Union Bank of California.  He has also been a member of the American Institute of Architects, the American Planning Association, the National Council of the Architectural Registration Board (NCARB), the Urban Land California Architects Board, the founder of the Napa Valley Architects Exchange, member of the Technical Advisory Panel for the Napa Flood Control District and in 2013 was voted Rotarian of the Year for Napa Sunrise Rotary.
