The City of Fairfield Planning Department gave approval to the major rehabilitation of the Jolly King Liquor & Food Store on 730 5th Street, Fairfield. The Jolly King Market was first established in the 1990s, serving the local community by providing accessible grocery products. This new, modern design created by Craiker Architects and Associates will bring new life to a dated building. Craiker Architects and Planners’ Eric Forrestall, Associate AIA Project Manager/Designer, will be overseeing the project. Forrestall is noted, “This is a game changer for the neighborhood. Fairfield deserves more exciting design options. We love Fairfield and look forward to creating a more vibrant design vocabulary in Solano county.” The project will introduce improvements to the existing exterior building façade. Rehabilitation to the exterior of the building will include modern materials and landscaping to establish a new, modern look, and take the market to a new level of architecture.
